|Man of stainless steel Stainless steel is 1000 times stronger than iron He grew up around steel in the Industrial Age in Sheffield, England. His father was a steel worker, and as young as 12 he followed suit. Twenty years later, this hardworking boy became a chemist for the steel industry and he was about to become famous for solving a big problem: high temperatures were causing gun barrels to wear out. So he created a metal to withstand battlefield conditions. By adding chromium and carbon to the mix, he stumbled onto stainless steel resistant to more chemicals and heat than normal steel. He was Harry Brearley. He was the Industrialist. And, he did more that put Sheffield on the map. He changed the world. Our Industrialist Ring pays tribute to this remarkably durable metal and the inventive spirit that created it. The Industrialist Ring is forged of solid stainless steel, finished with copper and pewter colored stripes and is rugged enough to handle making the rounds of the roughest and craziest pubs in Sheffield. The smooth inside makes it easy and comfortable to slip on and off, for when you need to switch it up to something more refined for a cocktail party… or take it off for the type of altercation even a gentleman sometimes gets caught up in.
